Kathmandu, October 7, 2026: Graduates of Nepal Engineering College (nec) presented their research papers at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Computational Science and Engineering (IC-AICSE), highlighting innovative research in electric mobility, transportation planning, and sustainable infrastructure development in Nepal.

The conference was organized with the participation and support of prominent engineering and academic institutions, including Everest Engineering College, Himalayan Institute of Science and Technology, Nepal Engineering Association, Nepal Engineering Council, Pokhara University, and IEEE Nepal Section.

Two research papers featuring nec graduates were presented at the conference.

The first paper, titled “Optimal Siting Fast Charging Stations along the Prithvi Highway Using GIS-Based MCDA,” was presented by Prajwal Chirague Niroula and Bishnu Prasad Devkota. The study applies Geographic Information System (GIS) and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to identify suitable locations for fast-charging stations along the Prithvi Highway. The research addresses an emerging challenge associated with Nepal's rapidly expanding electric mobility sector and provides a systematic approach to planning charging infrastructure along a major national transportation corridor.

The second paper, “Predicting E-Mobility in Nepal Using Analytical Hierarchy Process and System Dynamics Approach,” was presented by Roshan Yadav and Bishnu Prasad Devkota. The research explores the future development of electric mobility in Nepal by combining the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with a System Dynamics approach. The study provides insights into the factors influencing the adoption and expansion of e-mobility and can contribute to evidence-based planning and policy formulation for Nepal's transition toward sustainable transportation.

The presentation of these studies at an international conference demonstrates the growing research engagement of nec graduates in emerging areas of engineering and technology. The research also reflects the importance of interdisciplinary approaches combining engineering, spatial analysis, decision-support tools, and computational methods to address contemporary infrastructure and sustainability challenges.

The participation of nec graduates in IC-AICSE further contributes to strengthening the college's research culture and its academic connection with national and international platforms. Their work on electric mobility and sustainable transportation is particularly relevant to Nepal's ongoing transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transport systems.

Nepal Engineering College congratulates Prajwal Chirague Niroula, Roshan Yadav, and Bishnu Prasad Devkota on their research presentations and wishes them continued success in their academic and professional pursuits.
