Abstract

It is crucial for businesses and projects to generate effective work by raising worker happiness in order to keep good job creation in a timely manner. Any construction company that wants to deliver quality results must be knowledgeable about the factors, the factors that motivate employees, and the level of labor satisfaction. The study's focus was on respondents who represented as higher executive employers from 8 distinct companies and the combined total of 190 workers employed by those particular companies in Kathmandu district. The data for this study were obtained through conducting a survey to higher executive company employer as well as labors from respective project sites. A valid questionnaire from the past literature was built by conversing with the employers of construction companies about the different elements they were imposing in terms of motivation, and with the help of those validity questions, significant labor-related questions were developed to find the level of job satisfaction. The obtained data were then analyzed through Spearman’s correlation to identify the relationship between motivation and job satisfaction of construction workers. The findings concluded that 89% of labors showed willingness to work with current employer or the company and 87 % of them were satisfied with their current job. The reason behind their willingness was job security overtime pay and pay on time. The study showed that highest level of satisfaction and motivation received by the labor were due to job security followed by overtime pay and pay on time. The results of this study showed that motivation and satisfaction are strongly correlated with each other, with job security considered by the workers as the most vital factor in increasing their motivation. Despite being on the bottom list of the factors, work appreciation and reward too have strong influence on construction labor motivation and job satisfaction. The study also suggested that since motivation and satisfaction are correlated with each other, there is no significant difference.
