MSc iWRM participates in International Workshop in Tiwan

Er. Pratik Singh Thakuri,
Assistant Professor at Nepal Engineering College—Center for Postgraduate
Studies, affiliated with the MSc IWRM program, participated in the prestigious International
Workshop on Sustainable Protection and Restoration of Soil. The workshop
was held from October 27 to November 3, 2024, at National Cheng Kung
University, Tainan City, Taiwan.
The workshop brought together
experts, academicians, and professionals from across the asia to discuss
innovative solutions for soil protection and restoration, emphasizing
sustainability and resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
During the event, Er. Thakuri
made a notable contribution by presenting on the Status of Groundwater
Monitoring and Remediation in the Kathmandu Valley. His presentation
highlighted the pressing challenges associated with groundwater contamination
and depletion in the valley, while also showcasing ongoing efforts to monitor
and mitigate these issues. His insights sparked valuable discussions on
sustainable groundwater management in urban and peri-urban settings, receiving
appreciation from fellow participants.
