User committees play a pivotal role in community-driven development projects, particularly in construction work aimed at enhancing infrastructure and amenities for the development of country. Users Committees means a committee formed by the persons directly benefited from construction works from amongst themselves so as to build, operate, repair and maintain such works. Users‟ committees are allowed to implement the projects contributing cash or kind at their own end. Budhanilkantha Municipality has 13 wards; many Projects have been implemented by UCs every year faced mention problems regarding construction work performed by UCs in the municipality. So proper assessment of the projects implemented through UCs is required to identify the challenges and current status of projects under UCs in Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu. The main three objective of the thesis was Status, Challenges and Possible remedial measures on the construction work implemented through User Committees in Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu. The methodology used for the objective first were questionnaires, descriptive analysis and Bloom cut-off method which show the status on the construction works implemented through UC‟s were moderate level. The methodology used for the objective second were KII, questionnaires, descriptive analysis and PCA. Similarly, KII/thematic Analysis and Free word cloud generator-Monkey learn methodology were used for the objective third. Total of ninety-two projects having cost estimates greater than one million led by the users‟ committees were taken. The status of construction work projects managed by user committees reflects a dynamic landscape influenced by various factors. The major challenges faced on construction work implemented through user committees were 8 challenges among 32 challenges done after Principal Component Analysis (PCA) including questionnaires survey. IX The possible ways to overcome the existing challenges are regular monitoring and site visit by concerned technicians, encourage community contribution, effective co-ordination and communication, using project management tools, prioritizing task, collaboration & partnership, develop clear guidelines and procedures, conduct audit and provide training for the challenges, Quality Control measures and implementing safety protocols and procedures, Provide workshop and training and develop clear and comprehensive contracts, Conduct Site investigations and apply mitigation measures, Regular servicing and maintenance and use appropriate equipment. The recommendation for the Budhanilkantha municipality is develop culture of E- governance system, establish own equipment department, Provision of maintenance and insurance fund and mitigation the existing challenges.
